Skiitouring to Tri Vody
In the heart of the Low Tatras there is a place where three streams meet: the Black, the White and the Lučivniansky brook, and this place is aptly called as Tri Vody – Three Waters. Since we were inspired by this place when looking for the name of our resort, we will show you how to get there in winter on skis.
Skitouring in the Tri Vody area in the Demänovská dolina is a great way to enjoy the scenery of the Low Tatras and experience the beauty of these mountains without excessive risk and adrenaline. The route from Otupné to Tri Vody via Brhliská and the return to Otupné provides a skitouring experience suitable for those who prefer a gentler climb and a calm descent. The whole route offers a varied mix of terrains. It starts in Otupne and progresses past the snowmaking lakes with a gentle climb to the Tri Vody. After reaching Tri Vody, it is possible to enjoy the beauty of the place where the three streams meet, and then cross to Brhliská and finally experience the peaceful descent back to Otupne. The way back allows skiers to enjoy downhill runs on less demanding slopes, which makes skitouring a pleasant experience not only for the fit but also for those with lower technical abilities.
