Cycle route under the Western Tatras

For more experienced mountain bikers / ebikers we recommend the cycle route under the Western Tatras. From Tri Vody we drive along dirt roads through Ploštín to the outskirts of Liptovský Mikuláš. We continue along the cycle path to Liptovská Ondrašová. From there we take a little-used asphalt road to Trstené, where the mountain cycling starts with beautiful views of Liptovská Mara and Liptovský Mikuláš, as well as the Western Tatras.

At the beginning of the Žiarska valley we can refresh ourselves in a popular cottage. The way back leads along the asphalt road to the village of Smrečany, where we return to the ridge and continue to the military cemetery at Háj (a small walk, but worth it). From there we continue along mostly minor roads to Tri Vody via Demänová, Bodice and Pavčina Lehota along the panel road along the stream in the shade of alders. Be sure to finish the challenging route in our bistro U medvedov!

Those who do feel not like 48 km as enough can take a detour from the beginning of the Žiarska dolina to the Žiarska chata, which will extend the route to 60 km.
