Žiarska chata

In our blog we do not write about well-known places, because most of the visitors of Liptov already know them. Nevertheless, today’s post is dedicated to Žiarská chata for several reasons: you can get there on foot, by bike, but also in winter on skis, you can also get there with a baby carriage. You can go there easily, as there is usually a snack bar open at the top. Moreover, Žiarska chata is an easy entry into the high mountain environment of the Western Tatras, so most people can handle it. The more skilled hikers can of course continue on, for example to Baranec, which we will write about next time.

In the maps below you will find the route to the car park at the beginning of the valley, from where you will go 5.5 km up the asphalt road. Cyclists and bikers are recommended to take a circular 60km cycle route with 1.300m of climbing from Three Waters.
