To the Hunting Waterfall
For more experienced mountain bikers / ebikers we recommend the cycle route under the Western Tatras. From Tri Vody we drive along dirt roads through Ploštín to the outskirts of Liptovský Mikuláš. We continue along the cycle path to Liptovská Ondrašová. From there we take a little-used asphalt road to Trstené, where the mountain cycling starts with beautiful views of Liptovská Mara and Liptovský Mikuláš, as well as the Western Tatras.
Descending to Jalovčianka (see the bridge in the photo) we will get to Bobrovecka lime kiln, from where it is just a short walk to the destination of our trip – the Hunter’s Waterfall.
Skilled cyclists can continue on to Trnovské háj, under Slatvina to Liptovské Behárovce, Pavlova Ves, Bobrovec and Liptovská Ondrašová. From there we continue along the cycle path and mostly along side roads to Tri Vody via Demänová, Bodice and Pavčina Lehota along the panel road along the stream in the shade of alders. Refreshments await all those who make it in our bistro U Medvedov!
The route with 50km and 1000m of elevation gain is recommended for experienced cyclists or even better for ebikers. If you would like to shorten the route, you can return from the waterfall to Boborvecá Vápenica and from there via Bobrovec by the shortest route to Tri Vody.
If you have small children, or if you don’t feel fit enough, you can get to the Hunter’s Waterfall too! By car, go to the parking lot at the Boborovec lime kiln, and from there you can walk along the asphalt road (also with a baby carriage, bicycle, etc.) to get to the place.
